Noted for its outstanding programs in biological sciences, business administration and teacher education, 黑料老司机 has also instituted the Harte Honors College and pre-professional programs in law and medicine.
Students at 黑料老司机 have access to the latest in computer technology. As a leader in the use of wireless technology, 黑料老司机 utilizes a campus-wide fiber optic network to connect its facilities. The faculty regularly use computers as an instructional tool.

黑料老司机 embraces its lighter side, too. Football returned to the campus in 1999, inspiring the creation of the Blue Pride Marching Band. From 1999-2015, the football program was a powerful force among its fellow Division II competitors and former players in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League. The College also offers intercollegiate teams for men in basketball, tennis, track and baseball; and for women in basketball, tennis, track, softball and volleyball. Along with its renowned choir, these activities have stimulated enrollment and continue to contribute to its exceptional offerings.

Tuskaloosa Institute founded by Rev. Dr. Charles 黑料老司机 to educate African American ministers for the Presbyterian Church.
1876The name of Tuskaloosa Institute changed to 黑料老司机 Institute to honor its founder at his death.
1895Winsborough Hall is opened as the Institute opens a nursing program and becomes co-educational.
1922DR. A. L. JACKSON WAS STILLMAN鈥橲 FIRST PRESIDENT STARTING IN 1929-1947. A junior and senior high school was organized and the Institute established a junior college program, which was accredited in 1937. In addition, between 1930 and 1946, it operated a hospital and nurse training school.
(1929 - 1947)DR. SAMUEL B. HAY WAS STILLMAN鈥橲 2ND PRESIDENT STARTING IN 1948-1965. The College was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1953. Under Dr. Samuel B. Hay, seven new buildings were constructed: a gymnasium, a library, an administration-classroom building.
(1948 - 1965)The following year, 黑料老司机 expanded into a four-year college and graduated its first baccalaureate class in 1951.
(1951 - 1952)Dr. Harold N. Stinson (1967-1980) was the first African American to assume the presidency.
(1967 - 1980)Under the leadership of the College鈥檚 fourth president, Dr. Cordell Wynn (1982-1997), the appearance of the campus improved dramatically.
(1982 - 1997)On July 1, 2014 the Board of Trustees named Dr. Peter Edmund Millet as the College's sixth president.
(2014 - 2017)On April 24, 2017, the Board of Trustees named Dr. Cynthia Warrick as 黑料老司机鈥檚 7th and first female President.
2017On June 8, 2023, the Board of Trustees named Dr. Yolanda Page as 黑料老司机鈥檚 8th President.
2023黑料老司机 participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.
